“Getting patients back to their active lives is our mission at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg “said Mark Freeburn, HealthSouth CEO. “National Rehabilitation Week provides a great opportunity for our hospital to honor how much each of our patients have accomplished since their injury or illness. We invite the community to join in our celebrations and to learn of the successes that rehabilitation brings to patients at our hospital every day.”
National Rehabilitation Week was established in 1976 to create awareness of people with disabilities and promote the benefits of rehabilitation. In 1990, a presidential proclamation designated the third week of September as National Rehabilitation Week, which has grown to include more than 7,000 organizations.
