Gregory P. Toot, Administrator and CEO, Acute Rehabilitation Hospital
Having over 18 years of rehabilitation experience, Greg has served as Mechanicsburg's Administrator and CEO since April 2005. Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, Greg and his family lived in Portland, Maine, where Greg's career in healthcare began. Working at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland, Greg served as Administrator of a Managed Unit, and Director of Business Development. He was active in local and community organizations including the "Stop Stroke" committee which operates in conjunction with the American Stroke Association and the Maine Department of Health, and the Town of Cape Elizabeth Volunteer Rescue/EMS. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from Springfield College, Massachusetts.
Michael F. Lupinacci, MD, Medical Director, Rehabilitation Hospital
Serving as Medical Director for Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg, Dr. Lupinacci is a physiatrist. He received his undergraduate and graduate medical training at Georgetown University and completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. He is the founder of PRISM Physicians of Rehabilitation, Industrial & Spine Medicine, P.C., and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine.
Scott J. Meck, OTR/L, Director of Clinical Services - Acute Rehabilitation Hospital and Outpatient
Having over 20 years of extensive clinical experience, Scott has focused his expertise in the treatment of brain injuries and neurologically impaired acute rehabilitation patients. He has been responsible for the development, marketing, and implementation of Onsite employer-based therapy clinics, providing treatment for the injured worker for Fortune 500 companies. His managerial experience of private practice outpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and multi-state contracts contributes to his global growth perspective of operations and management of physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Elizabethtown College. Most recently, Scott has received the advanced SaeboFlex Functional Tone Management certification, and has presented at the regional clinical summit.
Mary Kost, Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Quality and Risk – Acute Rehabilitation Hospital
Having over 25 years of experience in customer relations, business administration, professional nursing, quality assurance and risk management, Mary has been with HealthSouth since 2001. Mary holds professional degrees from Bloomsburg State University and Pennsylvania
State University.
Deborah R. Baker, Administrator and CEO, Regional Specialty Hospital
Having over 17 years of diverse nursing experience, Deb has worked in critical care, cardiac and surgical transplant units. She was Director of 2 ICU units and 2 telemetry units in Hazelton, PA. Prior to joining HealthSouth’s team, Deb has worked
in the LTAC business since 2003, starting as a clinical liaison and then progressed to CEO in September of 2005. Deb received her nursing degree from Harrisburg Area Community College and her Bachelor of Nursing from Millersville University.
Michael L. Gluck, MD, Medical Director, Regional Specialty Hospital
Serving as Medical Director for Regional Specialty Hospital, Dr. Gluck is an internal medicine physician. He received his Bachelor of Science from City College of New York, and his graduate medical training at Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine. Dr. Gluck completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Harrisburg Hospital.
He is a senior partner at Internists of Central PA, LTD, and is board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics.
Rita Heisey, M.S., RRT, Director of Clinical Services, Regional Specialty Hospital
Working in the Respiratory Care field since 1977, Rita has over 17 years of extensive acute hospital experience. Beginning as a staff therapist, Rita progressed to clinical educator, department supervisor, and department manager. In 1997, Rita took a position with HealthSouth as Respiratory Therapy Department Manager. She was instrumental in the development of our Ventilator Program, and served as the program director. Currently, Rita is the Director of Clinical Services, and has oversight responsibility for all therapy services provided at the LTACH. Rita completed her Respiratory Therapy training at Harrisburg Area Community College, and holds her Bachelor of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science Degree in Health Services from California College for Health Sciences.
Doug Shoop, Director of Nursing, Regional Specialty Hospital
Having over 17 years of diverse nursing experience, Doug has worked in critical care with post-open heart patients, med/surg ICU, cardiac ICU, home health and hospice. Prior to moving back to Pennsylvania, Doug worked in Seattle, Washington where he supervised the Critical Care Division of a community hospital. While in Seattle, he also developed an open heart program with the University of Washington and Harrison Memorial Hospital. Returning to Pennsylvania, Doug was the Nurse Manager for the Critical Care Division of Chambersburg Hospital prior to joining Regional Specialty Hospital. Doug received his nursing diploma from Lancaster General Hospital, his Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University, and is currently pursing his Masters in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University.
Randy Dick, Director of Quality and Risk, Regional Specialty Hospital
Randy has over 35 years of healthcare experience including acute care hospital, nursing home, assisted living, continuing care retirement communities, home care, rehabilitation, physician office practice, and LTAC experience. More than 15 of those years have been in various positions with HealthSouth hospitals. Randy trained as a Respiratory Therapist and Nursing Home Administrator. Randy received his Respiratory Therapy credentials in 1975 and his Nursing Home Administrator license in 1995. Randy holds a Bachelor of Health Arts degree from the College of St. Francis.
Jay Shoen, Controller
Having over 7 years of extensive experience as a controller, Jay has served as HealthSouth of Mechanicsburg's Controller since February, 2006. Prior to working with Mechanicsburg, Jay served as HealthSouth of York's controller since 2004. Jay holds a BS in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
Katherine Middleton, Director of Marketing Operations*
Working in the rehabilitation field for over 17 years, Katherine has extensive knowledge of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Her experiences with HealthSouth encompass both patient care and administrative responsibilities. Katherine joined the Mechanicsburg system in 2004, after having served as HealthSouth of York's Marketing Manager. She has oversight responsibility for the marketing and admissions operations for both inpatient hospitals and associated outpatient facilities. Katherine holds a Bachelor or Arts, and a Masters of Public Administration concentrated in Healthcare from the Pennsylvania State University.
